Well, embrace yourself for this photos-flooded post. I registered myself in a humanitarian expedition by my university to Luang Prabang, Laos PDR 2 months ago. and yes, this is first post after my last updates. sorry for the laziness, not sure if anyone still care reading about it but this is the trip I must blog about. Which ...kinda remind me of my half blogged 2011 Aus trip. o.O
In case you not sure where is Laos, is a land-lock country in between Thailand, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia and China.
in Chinese language,we know Laos as 辽国/寮国/老挝(wo1).
Anyway, I wouldn't thinking about visit this country if I never join the expedition trip. Original route in the itinerary was from KL to Vientiane (capital of Laos) and 10 freakinhours bus to Luang Prabang and a boat trip to the village. So me and 2 of my friends decided to take an alternative route by entering Bangkok and a non-stop flight to Luang Prabang the next day morning.
First visit to Thailand. :) I am the rare species of Malaysian who never visit Thailand before.
First sight of love about Bangkok is the cleanliness of the street.
Nice bathroom/toilet area of our hostel at Silom.
Must prove that I was there.
Those wires doesn't make this city less beautiful. :)
Tom Yummmmm
BTS ride to visit Chatuchak market.
the small icon with some yellow colour is the sign stated that: This seat is priority to Monks.
The market.
A bit regret on not wearing sunglasses and sunblock :)
50 baht (~RM5) for this one big cup of ice coffee from a road side stall. Taste better than SB/CB/SFC or other coffee houses in Malaysia.
Colourful street view :)
Siam Paragon's hypermarket
self-service salad bar, of course you need to pay.
Sausages. *Drooling*
Dinner at some random local Chinese wantan mee shop. here ends our Bangkok one day trip :)

You're looking at Mekong River.
Welcoming ritual. (photo taken by Hwei Ming) and this was the morning before we arrived. Just to show how they welcome their guests.
Muang Kham Village's multi purpose hall.
is a free case village. which means, is totally safe for you to have your front door unlock and your kids running around.
Lunch by host lady (we addressed her as Meh-mee) and her cook 'team'.
Vanessa and kids from the village
Our accommodation at the host family house number 2.
Kids were so happy cz they have new friends to play with.
Mr. Peter brought us to visit the schools and their library. We gonna paint their library and make it look like one with books. Previous batch built the library but due to time constraint, they couldn't finish the entire thing.
Classroom.
The one and only football field /assembly place.
Kids are enjoyed themselves following us up and down.
Their playground.
Convenient stall. is 24/7. better than 7-11. You can just knock the door whenever you need even when it is closed. Laos currency is in Kip.which is unavailable for exchange in M'sia or precisely, outside Laos PDR.
Tips: exchange your money to US dollar/Thai Baht before entering Laos and exchange it back to Thai Baht or USD before you leaving , or else, those Kip you bringing home will be worthless. ($1 USD = ~8000Kip)
to be continued. cheers
xoxo
